Philip Aster, 73, of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ on Thursday, November 20th from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass celebrating Phil's life will be offered at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell on Friday, November 21st at 10:30 am. Phil was born in the Bronx and lived in New Jersey for many years. He graduated from F.I.T. in NY with a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering. During his years in high school and college he was a dance instructor in the Catskills. This was beginning for his love of Latin Music of which he was an aficionado. Phil was a musician and an accomplished drummer.

Mr. Aster retired recently from the Glamorise Foundation in New York. After his retirement he decided to volunteer in the community and joined the Caldwell / West Essex Kiwanis Club of which he was dedicated member.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Francine M. (nee Garofalo); devoted children, Amanda Marie, Michael Robert and Jennifer Eve DeFulio; cherished grandchildren, Athena, Nicholas and James; loving sister, Florence Turk and her husband, Jack; dear nephew, Evan and niece, Paula.
