As a nearby neighbor this is like an end of an era for me. I remember well the amazing tomato garden where my daughters often visited when they were children. I will always remember the Calandra family with great affection. My condolences to the family.
Sorry to hear about Mary's passing. Growing up I always saw Mary and her siblings when I would visit my grandmother who lived 2 doors away on Kirkwood Place. My wife and I visited with Mary last March and spent a couple hours talking about the old days. She gave my daughter a china cabinet that my father had made for the Calandra family. May she rest in peace and zI know that Mary and sisters and brothers are all looking down at all of of us.
Having Rose, Tom & Mary as next door neighbors all my life was a Blessing that I will be forever grateful for. My fondest memories are of the Calandra's & the Emmanuelle"s sitting under the chestnut tree with my father and my aunt! discussing the old days & current events. Mary was such a good friend to my Aunt Jeanette especially in my Aunt's last years of life. She would call to talk to her multiple times a week and bring her fresh vegetalbes. More Caring Neighbors you could NOT find!! May she rest in peace!
