Obituary of Nicholas J. Fano
Loving Husband, Father and
Nicholas J. Fano Jr., of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 with his loving family by his side after a long battle with heart failure. He was 78 years old.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ on Friday, June 30 from 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame R.C. Church, 359 Central Avenue, North Caldwell, NJ on Saturday, July 1 at 10:00am. Nick was born in Newark, NJ to the late Nicholas and Lucy (Lelli) Fano. He proudly served in the US Army from 1957 – 1959. Upon returning home he married Lena (Capaccio) and together they raised their family in West Caldwell.
Mr. Fano was a Real Estate Entrepreneur in Essex County. He was a member of the Caldwell Old Guard and West Caldwell Seniors.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Lena; devoted children, Lucille Alexander & her husband John Alexander, Lisa Serrani & her fiancé Wayne Sedeyn, Nicholas Fano & his wife Maria Fano and Laura Sciacca; loving brothers, Danny, Dennis and Robert Fano and sisters, Lucille Mancino and Rosalie Wagner; also 11 cherished grandchildren; John, Angela, Noelle, Kevin, Corina, Samantha, Dana, Christina, Nicholas, Frank and Vincent.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael Fano.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be deeply appreciated.
